Mary Wladkowski, Ph.D., CFA
Chief Economist
Fixed Income Market Strategist

Mary Wladkowski serves as Chief Economist for Colmina, LLC. Mary’s career has spanned banking, investments, and academia, having served as Chief Investment Officer at a few firms before becoming a Professor of Finance. In her prior roles as Chief Investment Officer, she served individuals, working with trust, estates, and high net worth portfolios as well as institutional clients managing endowments, charitable trusts, and retirement plans. She has earned the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), the Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and the CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) credentials, as well as a PhD in Business Administration.
Mary understands markets are complex and serving clients’ needs is her primary objective. Integrity forms the foundation of her work, acting as a checkpoint as she operates independently and brings a fresh perspective to managing client assets. Her involvement in the investment decision-making process is separate from the selection of assets, functioning as a dispassionate mediator, helping clients to steer clear of investment fads and keeping an eye on the long-term goals of each investor.
As a member of the CFA Institute, Mary continues to contribute to the field, serving as an essay exam grader for over 20 years, working on the Candidate Curriculum Committee and the Practice Analysis Committee; she served two terms as an exam writer, and was awarded the Donald L. Tuttle Award for Excellence in CFA Examination Grading in 2017.
Mary volunteered on the Supervisory Committee at a federal credit union and has been an active member of several non-profit organizations, including two terms as president of the Alaska Women’s Resource Center, and second vice president of the Susitna Girl Scout Council. She also serves as an academic advisor to the University at Albany’s School of Business Investment Group and the UAlbany Stock Exchange club. Mary is committed to encouraging women in the financial services field and believes financial literacy is a universal goal.
Married with two adult children, she splits her time between Anchorage, Alaska, and upstate New York.
Mary Wladkowski operates autonomously as an Outsourced Chief Economist and Bond Market Strategist, conducting her work independently from Colmina.
